April In Argentina

March 30th:
Everything has been pretty chill :) I did realize something though; I was thinking about something that Lily wrote to me last week about how there was a missionary friend of hers who was talking about when she went on her mission, and she was thought about how she would be (in the smallest part) be paying Heavenly Father back for all she has been given, but that during her mission she realized that she became more endebted to him. I´ve actually been thinking about that a lot this week- and it´s so true! So, this is what i wrote to my president this week:
That´s really how i feel. I have been so blessed to see people´s lives change and to be a part of that change... there is no greater feeling! I litterally can´t imagine my life without my mission... i just can´t. I don´t know why it was such a hard decision for me to make to come because there really is no other work more rewarding.
Alright, well, this week is conference!!!! I hope that you guys can prepare to listen to the prophets and apostles because they really are men called of God, and it´s through them that Jesus Christ reveals EVERYthing that we need to know NOW. If we listen to the conference with open ears and open hearts we WILL receive an answer si o si. But we must be prepared to receive our answer and then act on the revalacion we receive. That is when we truly show our faith. I testify that Thomas S Monson is the Lord's prophet on this earth today and that he and his apostles are special witnesses of Christ. If we follow their council we will NEVER go astray and we WILL receive eternal life. (Mosíah 15:11-12) We are so blessed to have the gospel in our lives and to have the chance to listen to the Prophet.. THE PROPHET!!! Sometimes I think we take that for granted. Really we should FEAST upon his words because his words are the words of salvation  Well, i hope that you guys have a fantastic conference weekend and a GREAT week!

I love you tooooooons!!!!! :)
(sorry about the weird text, it won't let me fix it....-L)

April 6th:
Conference was AMAZING!!! Gosh dang it! the only problem was that they were talking about eternal marriage like the whole time... *sigh* haha I was just like ... 'yup, that´s it...guys, i want to get married!' haha :P but ya, they had some amazing talks! i´m so glad you loved that talk about how we are suppose to support the husbands and priesthood holders. It´s true!
It´s crazy to think about how much Jesus loves us and how much he wants to help us! While i´ve been reading the scriptures I noticed something. I noticed that it always says that Jesus´s hand is sretched out for his people. Always. It says it time and time again in the Book of Mormon and I never realized that until now. No matter how many times the people mess up or how many times they fall into iniquity, when they look for God it always says that his hand is extended. We just need to make the effort and act- to reach out for his hand :) This week was good :) saturday and sunday were just full of traveling to watch the conference cause we have to watch it in the stake centers and not at home haha but one of our investigators went! Even if it was just for one sesson, she went! we were soooooo happy! :) and she said even though it was a little boring, that it was actually pretty good :) haha that´s a good sign lol :) but ya, I was so happy that I was able to hear the conference! And in english too! woohooo :) haha the church is true! It just is! :) and we are so blessed to know it! I couldn´t help thinking when we were running to the conference center (we were a little late cause of the train) and just thinking as we ran by people, if only they knew that a THE Prophet and Apostles of God were speaking right now...to the people of the world, they would be running too. Pretty dang exciting :) well i love you guys toooooooooonnnnnnnsssssss!!!!! have a stinkin´ amazing weeeeek! :)

April 15th:
Bueno, so this week was fun :) we had our zone conference and our zone activity aka a LOT of traveling haha but it was worth it! :) learned a lot of cool new stuff that I can put into practice. For the zone activity we watched 'Meet the Mormons' which was cute! :) the thing that really got me this week though was the fact that we cleaned our church... dun dun duuuuun! Ya, if you guys would have seen it before you would have cried. I basically did when I saw it for the first time haha but sadly it was just trashed and full of spiders and other creepy crawling things. It was a wreck! So our District Leaders came one day, saw it, and told us that WE are going to have to deep clean it cause it was a disgrace to the Lord... ya, he was kind of harsh but it was very needed. I can´t believe that people would leave the church so dirty or just let it go to waste. It´s super sad! so we chose a day and us, the elders that are with us, and the district leaders all cleaned yesterday with the help of a recent convert (of like a week) who wanted to help us. She actually told us that the first thing she thought of when she came to church was how dirty and let go it was... (which is NOT the first thing that they should notice) and she wanted to help us out (she is just awesome!). So we worked from 9 in the morning till 11 at night deep cleaning that thing DOWNNNNNNN! It was one of the most discusting, tiring, and horrifying things I have done in my life haha but when we finished... oh my gosh... I just can´t explain it. It just felt like Christ was there. We had worked so hard to clean EVERY little thing that it felt like Heavenly Father saw our sacrifice and saw that it was clean and sanctfied it. In that moment I understood how important the church building is. It´s like a mini-temple and it should be treated as such if it is going to have The Spirit in it. That´s why the members are asked to clean it.. so that they can realize what it truely means to them! Even though I have cuts and blisters all over my hands (litterally) and my knees are bruised from scrubbing down every floor, it was worth it and I would do it over again :) AND not only was it an amazing learning moment, but we (as a district) were just SUPER united! It was just SUPER amazing fun! It was... i don´t even know how to explain it jaja you just had to be there lol but ya, it was great. Well, there´s what I learned this week :) I hope you have an amazing fantastic, awesome week!!!! i love youuuuuuu! :)

April 20th:
This week has been good :) we were traveling a lot again haha cause we had exchanges and interviews with the president. exchanges are super fun! for real! I always learn so much from the other sister missionaries and it´s so fun to get to know other sisters! then we had interviews with the president and that just went SUPER well!!!! I always love them cause they make me feel like I´m strengthened and I feel like president really is there to help us with ANYTHING litterally ANYTHING! he is a great president! :) but ya, one of the things he told me was that they might be closing one of our cañuelas areas :( it´s super sad, but it has to be done. so he said that I might stay one more transfer with my comp after this transfer (woooohooooo!!!) and then when she leaves to Mexico, they are just going to take me out to. but ya, that´s the fun news haha we´ll see how it really goes down :S AND then after the interview we had the learning part with the assistents and that was super fun! we learned a LOT about how we can change our companionship study so that is more effective and we have been trying it out lately and it works sooooo well! we are more prepared and things just work!  But ya, those were a few interesting things that I learned and did this week :) pretty dang exciting haha :) well, I´ll talk to you later. byeeeeeee!!

March in Argentina

Feb 23rd: My week went well! i found out for sure that i´m going to be training! i don´t have my comp right now but i´m going to get her tomorrow with some other people who are training! i´m super nervous and excited and i feel so unprepared but hey, we can learn together too! i just don´t feel like i know the scriptures well enough or even the gospel as good as others enough to train but for some reason i´m training so we´ll see how it goes! i´ll let you know  also that means that hna deluca left to another area and i´m super sad for her! i miss her so much already!!! i have gotten so close to her over the last few weeks and i just started crying the other night when i was writing in her mission journal haha even though at the beggining it was hard, i learned so stinkin much from her and i was able to get to know her so well and could talk to her about anything basically. she is just so cute and awesome and i´m going to miss her tons but alas, así es la mision. but ya, before she left we had an asistence in teh church of 55 people!!!! 55!!!!! we were so stinkin happy i can´t even tell you how happy we were! in our little church we had people sitting in the hallway listening because there wasn´t enough room in our little church room haha but it just made me tear up a little cause it means that we really are finally progressing! i can´t really explain how happy i felt it was increadable! AND our investigator came to church with her younger daughter too! we were soooo happy! and her older daughter who is like 19 asked us for a book or mormon to read the last tame we had a lesson with her mom! she had 0 interes before but now she´s showing some interes! we are so happy! and her kids always say that ever since we have been coming they have seen a huge change in their mom. not only has she basically stopped smoking and drinking, but they said that the house and her have just been so peaceful lately and chill! we were all like: yessssss! hopefully, with time, the whole family will be able to be baptized and sealed together in the temple! that´s the end goal right?!?

March 2nd: Ya, my birthday went well!!! we went to a few members´ house and ate a lot of food! they were super nice about the whole thing! and ya, it´s fun being a trainer but kind of hard. i didn´t notice until now but, i was kind of getting tired, like a missionary does... haha but my comp, hna chauque from mendoza, is amazing i can´t even explain! she doesn´t need to be trained at all haha she is just already ready to do everything right haha she´s training me more than i´m training her haha! for real! i think she gets frustrated sometimes when i don´t understand her... i´m her first american comp so i understand that haha i´m the first that doesn´t understand her ALL the time. but i´m trying to just love her and help her be happy and do the things right :) Love you!

Birthday Cake!

March 9th: I just can´t stop talking about how much i´m learning from my comp. she is just such a good missionary and already completely prepared for the mish! she´s putting into practice everything that she learned in the mtc and the new tricks they taught her and everything! something cool that happened this week was that i just witnessed a miracle happen in a person haha so there was this one investigator hna deluca and i were teaching and she wasn´t progressing like at all... when we would go over she would make fun of joseph smith sometimes and just say rude stuff about our church while we were giving a lesson so we decided to drop her then like a week ago she sends us an email asking if we are going to pass by again soon. so i was REALLY not wanting to go again and i was kind of dreading it but i though ok, i´m going to give her another chance especially cause she reached out to us. so we went over and ya... she completely changed it was weird! but i think it was because after we dropped her her brother passed away in an accident and then her mom was diagnosed with cancer and she completely just humbled like crazy. she is so receptive of us and even though she is kind of a hard investigator still, i feel like she has a lot of potential. she might take a little more time to really be ready but she´s on the road! she even came to church this sunday! we had to pick her up because she told us it´s hard for her to wake up in the mornings but she came! we were soooooo happy! she said that she actually REALLY liked the classes we gave and stuff. she couldn´t stay the whole time but she said that next week for sure she will stay the whole time so we are supper excited about her! she´s making good progress! :) so that just showed me to have faith and that anyone can change if you just give them a chance. it was super cool to see the change in her, really, and i have high hopes for her! :) we just got to remember that sometimes things don´t always happen in OUR time but the LORD´S :) he is so patcient with us it´s increadable! :)

My trainee Herm. Chauque taking a Selfie haha

March 18th: my week has been pretty chill :) we found two more investigators and are really trying to work hard on getting the members excited about missionary work! we are bringing more members with us on our visits and stuff :) also one of the sisters is washing our close now! i can´t even tell you what a stinkin´ blessing that is! i have clean clothes!!! haha ;) and we had 50 people asist this Sunday !! including two of our investigators (mariela and laly) and mariela´s youngest daughter and her other daughter told us that she would come to church with us next week with her boyfriend so we are super excited about that too! :) so ya, things are going well :) we also had our district activity and it was super fun! everyone dressed up as if they were home aka it was weird to see how some people dressed haha then we ate tacos and went to an argentinian gift shop and i spent like all my money... haha but i got some cool stuff! :) and then the next day we had our zone conference and it was super amazing and i just loved it! :)

March 25th: OK, well, this week has been good! our investigator stopped smoking!!! well so far it´s been like three days but it´s a huge step for us in the right direction! and our district is awesome and they decided to try to focus on us having lessons with members and it was hard to get started but now the younge women are asking us when they can acompañarnos without us even asking! i found out the importance of having members in our lessons. not only does it help the investigators feel more comfortable cause they have someone ¨normal¨ with them but a lot of the members have gone through the same problems that the investigators went through and it also helps the members with their own personal testimony and helps energize them to get excited about missionary work! it really is great! :) and it´s fun! that´s a plus haha but ya, also we had a branch activity the other day and that went super well and it was a good time to just kind of chill with the branch like normal people haha we played ninja and that was fun! but ya, that was basically my week. and it was a good one because, well, i´m a missionary and doing the work of the Lord, there´s no better or more rewarding thing in the world! i feel my testimony grow every week and every week i´m reminded that this church is true. even if the people don´t want to listen to it or deny it, this work will go on with or without them because it´s the work of God and his work will never end. i´m so blessed to know this precious truth and i want to show it to share it with all the world! I finally understand how alma felt when he said: ¨oh that i were an angle¨ (alma 29:1-2) i feel like i´m doing my personal best and even though there are many things that i wish i could do and that i wish i could be perfect in, i just try to keep going and keep doing all that i can do and i know the lord will be happy with my service :) bueno, i just want you to know that i know this church is true with all my heart, might, mind and strength. i know that joseph smith was a prophet called from God and that through him God was able to restore his gospel to the earth once more with all the power and authority like in antiguidad. i know that my redeemer lives and because he lives will will live again! oh how amazing is the plan of the lord my God! i will forever be in his debt! :)

Us at our district activity day. We could wear normal clothe, and went shopping for cool souvenirs!
A traditional '9 months along' photo haha I can't believe I am at my halfway mark already.

Febuary 2, 2015

Ya, it was a really cool place to go for zone activity even if it was SUPER hot that day haha ya, i LOVE yoga! i actually have yoga on my usb i have here along with music and p90x with insanity! one of my goals for this week is to actually use it haha it´s so hard when it´s 630 and you have to exercise haha i´m use to doing it later or at night even lol so ask me about it so i can get going haha ya, i´m doing better with my comp... but it´s still kind of hard but i guess i´m learning to not be so uptight and to be better organized? My comp didn´t have many people to visit so i cleaned out the carpeta de area COMPLETELY!!! It took me a few hours while my comp took a nap haha but i got it done and now i feel less stressed and like we have a plan to work hard! I also talked to the mission leader here and he´s giving me names of less actives that might listen to us so we can go visit! it feels so much better to have a game plan haha i was going nuts for a while until i was like... ok let´s do this right haha but i feel a lot better now haha. As for our investigator, she couldn´t come to church this week cause she woke up with a flu, but she called one of the members to let them know she wasn´t going to be able to make it this week but that she´ll be there next haha she´s so funny! She actually reminds me a LOT of Vicki (jazzy´s mom) jaja. we also have another investigator named Maria Lemes, and she is progressing well... the only thing is that she has never come to church and it le cuesta a lot! but she has a date for 7th or march which we´ll try to help her get! :) ya, my ear is doing fine now! just like new!
I´m still putting drops in it but only for a few more days :) Ya, well my week has been good :) chill because we had to travel a lot for zone activity, interviews, and district reunion but hey, what can ya do? this week will be quite a bit of travel too cause we are going to the temple this weeeeeeeek! woooot Wednesday! we are all super excited!!! but ya, it´s been ages since i´ve gone! it´s time haha but i´ll let you know how it goes! :) well, love you guys TONSSSSSSS! Till next time! :)

January 19th, 2015

Hermana Alldredge got transferred to a new area!

It´s super crazy too that i have 7 months! i totally forgot that yesterday i completed 7 months (thanks for the reminder)! whaaaaaa? i really can´t believe it! i´m almost halfway done! woah! and ya, that´s crazy how rosalie is running around now? like whaaaa? weird! but poor rose with the whole shots and what not! that´s not fun! try to keep her well safe until she gets her measle shots! it sounds like sof´s birthday went well! awwww! i wish i could have gone bowling haha ;) and that is soooo cool that she wrote me?!?! she is so stinkin smart! for real, she is going to have to read me some good books when i get home haha. love the photos and everything! especially the lipstick ones haha nice. well its been a pretty chill week for me. so ya, bikes hurt my rear-end haha i realized that haha but hey, they help us get around easier. ya, the area is pretty dang big, and the problem is that it is all campo which is like all farmland haha so we go through a lot of dirt haha i've been wearing my boots like every day. its really chill here though. not as crazy and constant as it was in Adrogue which i really do miss btw. But hey, new adventure i guess :) the branch seems way nice! there are only like 30 or 40 people in total who assist haha but our mission leader is super chill and cool his name is sergio and he´s a convert of like 4 months and he really likes to help us out which is good! this branch is starting to do english classes and they want me to teach them :S Gosh dang, i´m gunna die haha ;) my comp is from Argentina from chaquo or something like that haha she´s nice but i feel so bad cause i can´t really understand her cause she slurrs her words and i can only hear from one ear anyways haha so it´s hard which makes it hard to talk cause i´m always like wait... what? but hey, i´m learning to have pacience with myself... but ya, she´s cool, we see things differently and i´ve become kind of strict with obeying the rules. not super super strict but i just like obeying them haha but she is SUPER relaxed and doesn´t really mind the rules at all.... it´s a challenge for me but i´m trying to be a little more relaxed so i don´t push her that much and at the same time trying to obey to 1. be a good example for her cause she is still super new in the mish and 2. because it´s kind of important to obey the rules. but hay vamos. i´m the one cooking like everyday haha she doesn´t know how to cook at all haha so i´ve made spaghetti, burgers (with sauteed onions), stuffed pumpkins, a rice mixed thing and some soup. it was actually pretty good. i was surprised at myself! woot! i´m learning how to cook!!! but hey, i´m learning a lot of things from her like for one, how to cook, and also to voice my opinion and obey for myself even if it´s just me and patience :) it´ll all work out in the end. i think i´m only going to have one transfer with her so it´ll be ok :) oh, and the mission nurse is going to make an appointment for me for the ear specialist (for my ear infection) woot! so let´s hope that gets fixed! :) besides that i´m doing great! trying to find some people to teach and what not! :) well, i love you guys tons!!! i´ll talk to ya later! :)

January 27, 2015 (I'm a slacker)

Sorry it's been a while since I have posted an update- the holidays got me side-tracked, and January is also a 'birthday month' for my family.

For Christmas, we were privileged to FaceTime with Hermana Alldredge! I loved seeing her sweet face, and hearing the Spanish language pour out of her mouth! Here is an email from Christmas time:

It was soooooooooooooooo nice to talk to you guys!!!! like really nice!!! i miss you guys soooo much! haha thanks for letting me know that i still look... alright haha i kind of gave up with what i look like right now haha but hey, it´s super hard to look nice when you have bad humidity and your eyes get infected so you have to wear glasses haha but thanks :)  it was kind of hard for me to not be at grandma´s funeral... but what i know brings me comfort. now she can see me working and help me out :) but ya, i´m happy to know that you guys could pass by her grave :) that´s good!
That´s so cool that you had a great christmas and was able to enjoy it sooo much! and all the fun presents and stuff haha i´m so happy that i was able to talk to you guys though, seriously. i was sooooo happy! it helped me out sooo much! and ya, it was cool to actually understand Ya, my comp and i got argentinian pants for each other, and that was fun haha but they are super thin and they started to brake already haha oh well, it was fun for a day or two lol but ya, i love you guys soooo much!  christmas was good for me! my comp and a few other companionships had a sleepover the 24th. i guess we weren´t supose to do it... but we already planned it so they let us do it haha. it was super fun! we were able to watch Disney movies which was awesome! then at like midnight people started to set off fireworks and all that and it was all crazy haha we heard a lot of cop cars haha but it was super fun. then we made french toast with dulce de leche and it was so good. then i got to talk to you guys which was nice! i bawled (of course) haha but then we went back to the apartment cause it was kind of dangerous to be out haha it really was a nice break from the full time mission work haha but i´m happy to be doing it again! the same thing is going to happen for 31st we have to be in our apartment at 6 and then the next day we can´t leave cause it´s even worse cause everyone is drunk in the streets haha but it´s all good. more disney movies!!!! :) haha but ya, the work is kind of hard here right now. i don´t know how many people have dropped us or how many we had to drop cause they weren´t progressing. it´s hard, i´ll be honest. super hard but we have found some more people that we are hoping to help out. they don´t have a baptism date yet cause they aren´t married legally but when we asked the dad what he thought about the resturation he told us that he believes that joseph smith really could have seen jesus and heavenly father and that our church really does sound like Jesus´ church restored in the earth today. he promised that he would read the book of mormon and pray about it to receive his own testimony of it. we are super excited for him! we´ll see how it goes :) but ya, we are still trying to work hard here to find new people really. to find those who are ready to listen to the truth. it´s kind of hard sometimes but we are putting in our effort and that´s what counts :) but ya, well, happy new years too!!!! let me know how it goes! love ya!!!!
